The Vampire Politics Continue – Peter Facinelli Comments On Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn NegotiationsFans were overjoyed to learn that the fourth and final installment of the popular Twilight series, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn was set to begin filming this October, that was until they realised that not all of the Cullen clan may be along for the ride! Two of the Cullen “children”, played by Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene are holding out on negotiations due to the additional film that the studio are adding onto the series – the result of splitting the last film in two.
Ultimately, both actors, along with most of the cast, were only contractually bound for four movies and as a result have only received a four film salary – leading to the pair to dispute their pay for a fifth film. With most of the cast already signed up and a shooting date locked, time is running out for the pair, who fans fear may find themselves replaced much like Rachelle Lefevre last year.
So with everything up in the air, what does Cullen patriarch, Peter Facinelli have to say about his kids? Speaking recently to PopcornBiz, the actor was staying largely tight lipped on the matter, showing (to his credit) outstanding loyalty to his co-stars. This from PopcornBiz:
“I haven’t spoken to them about this,” he says, adding that he doesn’t plan to either.
“Their deals are their deals. I respect whatever they decide to do. Every actor has to do their deal.”
Don’t you hate hippie Vampire father-figures?
The two actors’ holdout could lead to vampire-fan trauma and a possible replacement for the actors if a proper deal cannot be reached. But Facinelli was very serene about the prospect and even claimed not to know whether the final “Twilight” chapter will be one movie or two.
“I don’t think it’s been decided,” he says. “I respect Summit’s ability to decide when they get to the cutting room floor to see if it warrants one movie or two. If it doesn’t they’ll make one.”
“The decision will be made at some point, but it won’t be my decision.”
With time ticking on it’s only a matter of time before this matter is put to rest one way or the other, still I’m sure they’ll be pleased to know he’s got their back. More on this as it develops. The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, the third installment in the series, hits theatres later this year.
