Charlie 'used to hate Twilight'Charlie Bewley has revealed he is a converted Twilight fan.
The British actor, who plays Volturi vampire Demetri in the blockbuster films, wasn't a fan of Stephenie Meyer's best-selling books about the Twilight Saga before he signed on for the part.
"No, I wasn't, I actually hated Twilight before I signed on because every female that I knew was poring over Edward Cullen - but I got the audition and I thought, it's my turn now," he said.
But the 29-year-old has changed his mind, now that he stars in the films alongside fellow Volturi members Jane (Dakota Fanning) and Aro (Michael Sheen).
"It's a wonderful thing to be part of. I'm very grateful for the opportunity," he said.
"It's opened up doors to what I want to do in life, and it's allowed me to be creatively free, so it's been great."
Charlie has even got used to the fan mania surrounding Twilight.
"Nothing really surprises me about it any more. It's a crazy world. I think I'm getting used to it," he said.
"We were at a Twilight convention where I signed about 900 autographs and took 600 photos - it was just mayhem, the whole thing."
