Michael Sheen combined David Bowie, 'Rocky Horror' and Mae West for 'Tron Legacy'
While promoting "The Twilight Saga: New Moon," Michael Sheen noted numerous times that he was in the good graces of his 11-year-old daughter for appearing as the Volturi leader Aro in the vampire franchise. Speaking at a specially built "Tron Legacy" venue at Comic-Con 2010 this past weekend in San Diego, Sheen told HitFix that if "New Moon" was for her, than appearing in "Tron Legacy" was for the 11-year-old in him.
Sheen is best known for his critically acclaimed dramatic roles in "The Queen" and "Frost/Nixon," but is no stranger to genre having appeared in both "Underworld" and "Underworld Evolution: The rise of the Lycans" as the werewolf Lucian and voicing The White Rabbit in "Alice in Wonderland." In "Legacy," he's playing Kaster, the MC of the End of the Line club in the gigantic computer city revealed in the sequel to the groundbreaking 1982 film.
The 41-year-old actor told HitFix his character was inspired by rockers such as David Bowie, Frank-N-Furter from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," the MC from "Cabaret" and, of all things, Mae West. He wouldn't give much more away, except to say Kaster is a schemer and may have his hands in more things than just his popular late night destination.
