'True Blood' star Alexander Skarsgard likes to go full frontal during nude scenes, doesn't wear sock
By the looks of the new Rolling Stone cover, Alexander Skarsgard isn't modest when it comes to baring his body.
In fact, the "True Blood" actor, who plays sexy vampire Eric Northman on the hit HBO series, tells the magazine that he's not ashamed to bare all when shooting the show's risqué sex scenes.
"I don't want a sock around it, that feels ridiculous," Skarsgard said, according to UsMagazine.com. "If we're naked in the scene, then I'm naked. I've always been that way."
While his co-stars are equally free-spirited, some take strides to stay slightly covered up while in front of cast and crew members on set.
Though Anna Paquin goes topless in her sex scenes as character Sookie Stackhouse, she told Rolling Stone that she covers her bottom half with a "patch," a thong-like piece of material with the sides cut off.
Likewise, Paquin's real-life fiancé, Stephen Moyer, who plays her on-screen vampire love interest Bill Compton, opts to wear a sock during his nude scenes out of consideration for others.
"I've got nothing to hide," Moyer told the mag. "I just think it might be embarrassing for the crew."
Much like the trio's blood-soaked Rolling Stone cover photo, "True Blood" exudes sex and raw emotions that are a distinct difference from the celibacy-promoting vampires in "Twilight."
"To me, vampires are sex," show creator Alan Ball told the magazine. "I don't get a vampire story about abstinence. I'm 53. I don't care about high school students. I find them irritating and uninformed."
